My Philosophy

We all have a belief system whether we want to acknowledge it or not. For some it comes from a collection of life experiences, for others it comes from an outside source of many varieties (deities, other people/theories, etc), and for most it's a combination of the two. While I as an individual have my own opinions and beliefs I hold near and dear to me I respect and value others regardless if we agree on things like semantics and labels. Regardless of beliefs or rituals held I believe there is one common thread that connects us all and that's the idea of love and betterment. However, due to the ways that the world often imposes power and control we get confused on what love actually looks like. It wasn’t until I formed a relationship with our creator that I began to understand. I believe 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 says it quite well: "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

Throughout our lives the majority of us have experienced traumatic events. Things that subconsciously shape our experiences and way of life. It is my understanding that getting to the root of these beliefs is essential in discovering the person you were created to be. The person who doesn’t seek outward validation but rather uses their own intuition and yearning to seek out what fulfills their life which in turn helps to fulfill others. For it was Jesus who said in Luke 18:17: “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it”. By healing the wounds of our childhood and rediscovering our interest and sense of self we find our purpose and meaning for a better life. This is my mission as a life coach.

Like the God I follow, I believe in community and that we all have talents or abilities that enrich and contribute to it. In my own personal journey with God I have found that I am most fulfilled when I help others heal their wounds and connect in a loving, supportive, yet truthful space. God so wants us to be “whole”. To care for ourselves and others (mind, body, and soul). When we utilize and harness the resources around us (ie: healthcare, therapy, study of historical practices, etc) we get to see a full picture of where we have come from and where we are capable of going. May we as people lean into this rediscovery. May we make informed and loving choices. May we strip away the superiority and hierarchies of this world as it holds us back and hardens our hearts regardless of belief system or understanding. In my reading of the Old Testament I found that seeking knowledge is a divine request from God. May we never forget that.
